On The Tracks is Online!
Yes friends, we are carrying on in these wild times of physical isolation. We were sad to have cancelled a few shows early on but happy to report that we’re moving ahead with virtual concerts via Zoom featuring many of the artists who were scheduled to appear in person.
We are taking this virtual season one show at a time.
Proudly presenting Michael McNevin & Suzie Vinnick
Wednesday, December 2, 2020 – 7pm EDT
Michael McNevin is from the small train town of Niles, CA, where the transcontinental railroad cut through Niles Canyon to arrive in the SF Bay Area in 1869. His songs read like short stories, full of heart and humor, a keen eye for characters and places in his travels. He’s shared hall stages with Johnny Cash & June Carter & The Carter Family, Donovan, Shawn Colvin, Richie Havens, Utah Phillips, Christine Lavin, Iris Dement, Greg Brown, and many of others. Winner of the Kerrville New-Folk award in Texas, “DYI Artist Of The Year” for Performing Songwriter Magazine, 7-time winner of the West Coast Songwriters “Song Of The Year”. Placed 3rd at the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest and Telluride Troubadour Competitions, nominated Artist Of The Year by the National Academy Of Songwriters.
A Saskatoon native transplanted to the Niagara Region of Ontario, Roots and Blues singer Suzie Vinnick is a 3X Juno Nominee, CFMA Award winner, and a 10-time winner of the Maple Blues Award for songwriting, female vocalist, acoustic act and more. Suzie has a voice you’ve heard a thousand times and one you’ll never forget. It soars, it growls, it whispers and it shouts from a deep, deep well of emotion. The pure joy she exudes when she picks up that guitar is so worth the show.
Suzie has toured nationally with Downchild, Stuart McLean’s The Vinyl Café, the John McDermott Band and she performed for Canadian Peacekeepers in Bosnia and the Persian Gulf. She was also the voice of Tim Horton’s for 5 years. Her latest album is a full band roots and blues extravaganza entitled Shake The Love Around.

An unquenchable thirst for great songwriting combined with a love for the vessels who bring them to life – the songwriters – is the driving force behind ON THE TRACKS Songwriter Showcase. It was founded to bring our favorite writers to our neck of the woods by providing a venue to showcase their incredible gifts.
What makes this series unique is our focus on the songwriting. Our featured performers will be sharing insight into their inspirations and methods, the practical and magical process by which their songs come to life. You’ll hear lots of great songs of course, but you’ll also learn a little something about the art and craft of songwriting.
