On The Tracks is Online!
Yes friends, we are carrying on in these wild times of physical isolation. We were sad to have cancelled a few shows early on but happy to report that we’re moving ahead with virtual concerts via Zoom featuring many of the artists who were scheduled to appear in person.
2020-2021 Season!
We are taking this virtual season one show at a time.
Proudly presenting Bill Edwards and Michelle Held
Wednesday, March 3, 2021 – 7pm EDT
Having started his career in the singer-songwriter scene in Buffalo, NY in the 70’s, Bill Edwards’ journey has led him through bluegrass to country-rock, back to singer-songwriter and most recently to classic country. He claims Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell as formative influences, and says he’s most at home in the rich fields they’ve tilled so ably. Bill won the Country division of Billboard’s® national songwriting contest and his songs have been recorded by other artists and featured on TV and on the silver screen. He can more than hold his own with both acoustic and electric guitar, and sings with an expressive voice that brings his songs to life like no one else’s. Bill says that songs should move your heart or move your feet, or even better, both. Give him a listen. We think you’ll find yourself moved. More at: https://edwardsongs.com/
With a distinctive and soulful voice that captivates, complemented by a poignant and thought-provoking lyrical world, Michelle is establishing herself as a force in the next generation of poets and singer-songwriters. She earned National Honorable Mention recognition in Telluride Bluegrass Festival’s Telluride Troubadour Contest consecutively in 2018 and 2019. Brett Callwood of Detroit Metro Times wrote, “Held plays gentle folk with oft scathing lyrics. It’s her voice that adds the X-Factor; that little bit of welcome strange,” and Amy Speace wrote, “You bring true spirit to a shaking place with a voice we have not heard in a long, long time.” Performing regularly since 2013 and welcomed on renowned stages, such as Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe, Kansas City Folk Festival and The Ark, Michelle has been building a repertoire of original work and is preparing to record her debut album, so stay tuned. https://linktr.ee/michelleheld

About Us
An unquenchable thirst for great songwriting combined with a love for the vessels who bring them to life – the songwriters – is the driving force behind ON THE TRACKS Songwriter Showcase. It was founded to bring our favorite writers to our neck of the woods by providing a venue to showcase their incredible gifts.
What makes this series unique is our focus on the songwriting. Our featured performers will be sharing insight into their inspirations and methods, the practical and magical process by which their songs come to life. You’ll hear lots of great songs of course, but you’ll also learn a little something about the art and craft of songwriting.
